The academy

Sky Aviation Academy is a Saudi training academy offering courses across several aviation disciplines, from flying and engineering to ground operations and drones.

The assignment

A clearer, more consistent aviation identity.

At TAR, I redrew the academy’s existing logo at high resolution without changing its design. Maryam Sherif and I then worked together on the identity, guidelines, social direction and applications. The exact task-by-task split between us is no longer known, so this work is credited jointly.

The visual system

One language across brand and social.

The system brings together logo configurations, a blue palette, typography and a repeating brand element. The social guidelines distinguish between text-led and image-led posts while keeping both directions clearly connected to the academy.

Part 01

The guideline begins with a clear aviation presence

The opening page sets the visual tone before the system is broken down into its working parts.

A dark runway image, generous space and the refined mark establish a precise, professional atmosphere for the academy.

Part 02

The logo was not redesigned. I redrew the supplied mark at high resolution and prepared the system needed to use it clearly.

The construction grid, primary lockup and approved variations define proportions and give the team practical options across different backgrounds.

Part 03

A recognisable element that can build a pattern

Extend the identity beyond repeated logo placement.

The curved form extracted from the mark works independently, then repeats into a flexible pattern for backgrounds and supporting surfaces.

Part 04

A controlled blue colour system

Connect the academy with the sky and aviation while keeping the identity calm and professional.

Deep navy anchors the system, brighter blues add energy, and pale tones create breathing room. A defined gradient connects those values without introducing unrelated colours.

Part 05

One typographic voice in Arabic and English

Keep bilingual communication consistent across the academy’s materials.

The typography pages define Cairo for both scripts, along with weights and hierarchy that keep headlines, details and supporting copy easy to scan.

Part 06

Two directions for different types of social content

Give text-heavy announcements and image-led posts separate rules while keeping them inside one system.

The text-led direction prioritises hierarchy and clarity. The image-led direction uses photography as the main entry point, supported by restrained branding and typography.

Part 07

The system across selected applications

Demonstrate how the same visual language can move between social posts and brand applications.

The selected designs use the same palette, type hierarchy and brand element across different formats, keeping the academy recognisable without forcing every composition to look identical.
